CASology Week 251: MEDICINE

Welcome to Week 251 at CASology!

My husband and I were raised in very different cultures so it was a bit of a shock to discover we both grew up taking hot lemon & honey drinks when sick. This drink really is the best medicine for a sore throat. Without a honey image in my stash I had to get creative and hope this card makes sense to you.

A scrap of white cardstock is inked with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Inks before cutting the Memory Box Citrus Rounds die and Poppystamps Mod Hex die. Scraps of the inked panel were used to selectively cut the hexagon shape in the size needed for this design. The large ampersand die is from MFT and cut twice for stability as it is popped up over the other die cuts. Before adhering the die cuts, the Lawn Fawn sentiment is added to a Stitched Wonky Rectangle panel.

The Design Team cards are inspiring!

CASology Week 250: LOUD

Welcome to Week 250 at CASology!

I think the gallery is going to be full of fun cards this week with LOUD colors, sentiments and images! I went immediately to CASual Fridays Woot Woot stamp set and pulled out a few sentiments. This card was super fast to complete once I decided to heat emboss the sentiments in a trio of bright, loud colors directly onto the black card base.

The Design Team has more great ideas for you!

CASology Week 249: WARM

Welcome to Week 249 at CASology!

I interpreted this week's cue word with a warm color palette, a warm image (lanterns) and thoughts of warm summer nights. The Avery Elle Bunting stamp set provided the images I needed and were inked with a number of PTI colors.

The stamped panel is cut with an MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle and mounted on an orange card base.

CASology Week 248: COMMENCEMENT

Welcome to Week 248 at CASology!

This cue word is perfectly timed with high school and college graduations happening for those of us in the northern hemisphere, although it is a great word for any sort of new beginning.

My baby boy is somehow graduating from high school in a month and I admit to being in complete denial that this milestone is really here already. I used his school colors for this card and love that it can easily be adapted to make a few more cards we will be needing for different high schools and colleges.

An MFT square frame die is cut several times to create the shaker box. The base is a piece of white cardstock that is embossed with stars before the micro beads are sealed in. The sentiment on the star is a combination of an MFT heat embossed sentiment and die cut numbers and adhered to the front of the shaker box after it is sealed and dried.

The PTI sentiment was stamped on the card base before the shaker box was adhered.

CASology Week 247: FLOW

Welcome to Week 247 at CASology!

I'm really excited to see how you interpret this week's cue card. Inspired by photos of icebergs on the news I spent too much time trying to get the ice flow idea in my head to work on paper and had to put it aside for a while. I pulled out my Zig markers to play with watercolors instead and changed directions as I watched the colors flow into each other to create a seamless rainbow.

A Poppystamps Happy Birthday Melody die is cut from watercolor paper and layered on top of a black cardstock die cut before being adhered on the watercolor rainbow.

Check out the Design Team cards for more terrific ideas!

The Fusion Musical Butterfly sketch and photo inspired the design of this card. It is also being entered in the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog Anything Goes challenges.
